Frontline Update
- In the northeast, Russians are pushing near Kupiansk, Svatove, and Kreminna, but have lost equipment near Svatove.
- Global War Monitor reports Ukraine has eliminated Russian gains since July in the Kreminna to Svatove area.
- Around Bakhmut, Ukraine controls the northwest to southeast and all high ground. They will likely continue advancing towards Opytne.
- Klishchiivka is at least half controlled by Ukraine.
- South of Bakhmut, more than 50% of Kurdiumivka is under Ukrainian control.
- On the Robotyne-Tokmak axis, the first line of the Surovikin defensive line has been breached. Robotyne is now a contested settlement.
- On the Velyka Novosilka to Mariupol axis, Ukraine continues counter-offensives through Urozhaine, south of Staromaiorske, and west to Novodonetske, another contested settlement.
Military Aid
- Germany has provided $1.55 billion in financial assistance to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war, according to the Finance Ministry. Germany is one of the leaders in providing financial support after the U.S.
- A fact check by @deaidua on Medium refutes claims that Germany is delaying promised aid. The article provides context and details on Germany's military support to Ukraine.
Battlefield Innovation
Ukraine's 125th Territorial Defense Brigade is using a remote-controlled drone to evacuate wounded from the battlefield. The drone can transport up to 150kg of cargo and travel 2-3km on a single charge. New steel-toed boots are being tested to protect sappers from mines, as many are being injured even in previously cleared areas due to the densely mined terrain. Sappers often have to work on their hands and knees without proper equipment, leading to high attrition rates. Clearing mines limits the speed of Ukrainian advances.
