📍 FRONT-LINE UPDATE -🗺️ MAP LEGEND
Northeast Sector: Kupyansk to Svatove to Kreminna
- The tensest part of the Luhansk front is from Svatove to Kreminna, with Russian forces repelling Ukrainian advances but also Ukrainian forces conducting counterattacks
- Russians intensified offensive operations west of Kreminna on 3 Feb, with fighting around Ploshchanka, Chervonopopivka and the Zhuravka gully
- Russians made territorial gains and pushed Ukrainians back to a second line of defence in the Serebryansky forest
- Conflicting claims about status of Bilohorivka - some Russian sources claim it was taken, others say attacks were repelled
- If Bilohorivka falls, Siversk will be under threat. Taking Siversk would provide Russia a strong buffer zone around Kreminna and make Ukrainian counterattacks very difficult
Bakhmut Area
- Heavy fighting continues in and around Bakhmut from multiple directions
- In the north, Russians attacking towards Fedorivka and Krasna Hora from Soledar area
- Inside Bakhmut, Russians made incremental gains in east and south, including near cemetery
- South of Bakhmut, fighting ongoing in Klishchiivka and along highway to Chasiv Yar
- One Ukrainian soldier's account described intense battle where 30 Ukrainians held off 200 Wagner fighters for 10 hours, inflicting heavy casualties
- Russians still unable to interdict Ukrainian reinforcements into Bakhmut, showing Ukrainian resolve to hold the city
- If Bakhmut falls, Chasiv Yar may become the next major battleground
Donetsk Front
- Decreased activity around Avdiivka, although fighting continues in Vodyane and Pisky areas
- In Marinka, positional battles continue with little change
- Around Vuhledar, Russian offensive seems to have stalled after two failed assaults by naval infantry
- A Ukrainian mechanized brigade is credited with solid defensive efforts against elite Russian units
Southern Front
- Zaporizhzhia front has remained quiet, despite claims that Putin ordered capture of Zaporizhzhia city by 31 March
- In Kherson, a Russian source claimed Ukrainians conducted raids on islands south of Kinburn Peninsula - the first reported Ukrainian activity in that area since Russia captured it
- Routine artillery exchanges continue along the Dnipro River
