"If we manage to make a bridge with normal logistics, we won't need boats, but we need a lot of them right now."
Hello Team!
Jonathan presents a members poll asking what equipment people think should be prioritized to send to Ukraine. The options are:
- 2 Gripen fighters
- 1 million artillery rounds and 500,000 mortar bombs
- 40 Abrams tanks
- 120 CV-90 infantry fighting vehicles
- 200 Taurus missiles
📍 FRONT-LINE UPDATE -🗺️ MAP LEGEND
Northeast Sector - Kupyansk to Svatove to Kreminna
The Russians are slowly inching forward, gaining about 100m per day. The Ukrainians are fighting back but the net result is incremental Russian gains. As long as the Russians don't get past the river near Kupyansk, the Ukrainians are broadly happy with their defensive positions which provide good visibility over Russian positions.

Bakhmut Area
- The Russians have made some gains around the Bakivka reservoir area.
- Geolocated footage shows Russian advances southwest of Perseo-Travnevi, but this likely doesn't signify anything beyond what is already mapped.
- South of Bakhmut near Klishchiivka, the Russians are conducting "meat wave" attacks similar to earlier Wagner tactics, taking heavy losses.
- Ukrainian forces are more concerned about surviving another winter than the Russian attacks. The cold takes a heavy physical and mental toll.
Avdiivka
- Geolocated footage shows marginal Russian advances in the Avdiivka industrial zone about 1km southeast of the city.
- A BBC Russia article questioned Avdiivka's military significance, but Jonathan and other analysts disagree, arguing it has key defensive and potential future offensive value.
- The Russians are diverting resources to Avdiivka for limited gains. While exploitation is doubtful, they could continue expanding there.
Southern Front - Kherson
- Ukrainian forces have reportedly gained a foothold on the east bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast and are trying to secure it to open a new front.
- Bringing heavy equipment across is a challenge due to lack of bridges and boats. Pontoons are needed.
- The swampy terrain near the river makes it difficult for both sides - trenches can't be dug but it's also hard for Ukraine to break through.
- Fighting continues around Krinky, Kozachi Laheri and other settlements but without major changes so far. More time is needed to see if momentum shifts.
Wrap Up
Jonathan notes it was a slightly longer update due to the amount of analysis to cover. He hopes it provides greater context and understanding of the different frontline situations. As always, he appreciates the audience's support.
