"The bridge is half destroyed, and it's not a walk. You've got to climb down it and up it, and that is hellishly dangerous, I would have thought, even without the fact that there are going to be drones flying around aiming at you."

📍 FRONT-LINE UPDATE -🗺️ MAP LEGEND
Kharkiv: Heavy fighting for Vovchansk continues
🎦 00:20-11:38⏩
Jonathan analyses the situation in the Kharkiv Oblast where there have been no major changes on the map although there are reports of heavy fighting.
- He highlights a source, Kriegsforcher, a Twitter user, who is believed to be fighting near Vovchansk.
- Kriegsforcher reports an increase in Russian airstrikes on Vovchansk, stating that they dropped 13 guided bombs in one hour overnight.
- Jonathan infers that the increased use of airstrikes, such as the KAB guided bombs, is due to the Russians struggling to win the battle on the ground. He suggests the Ukrainians need to target Russian air bases using ATACMS.
- Kriegsforcher's thread continues to say that the Russians are mostly using infantry with few armoured vehicles in this area and that Ukrainian forces from the 82nd Brigade destroyed a couple of Russian BMPs, two of which were taken out by one company using four FPV drones.
- Jonathan discusses the use of FPV drones, mentioning that although they have a low success rate of 10-20%, those successful hits may involve multiple drones hitting the same target, meaning a higher overall number of drones are needed.
- The source concludes by stating that the Russians are reinforcing with fresh troops from other areas, including the newly created 22nd Regiment of the 72nd Division and the 155th Marine Brigade, the 810th Marine Battalion and the 9th Mechanised Brigade. He also mentions that Ukrainian forces are successfully targeting Russian engineering vehicles attempting to dig trenches in the area.
- Jonathan observes that the reliance on infantry and the deployment of newly formed and redeployed units suggests a lack of organisation and planning by the Russians.
- NoReport and a Ukrainian Telegram channel also confirm that Ukrainian forces of the 13th and 92nd Brigades are advancing in the village of Lobok, pushing Russian forces back.
Northeastern axis: Russia builds up forces for potential offensive towards Borova
🎦 11:38-17:51⏩
- Jonathan examines the northeastern axis, specifically the area around Svatove, where, despite no changes on the frontline, there are reports of a Russian buildup of forces.
- Deep State, a prominent military blogger, reports that Russian forces, possibly numbering around 10,000 troops and 200 vehicles, have amassed near the villages of Raihorodka and Nova Voivodiany, south of Svatove, with the intention of attacking towards Borova.
- Jonathan points out that previous Russian attempts to advance on Borova were met with stiff Ukrainian resistance.
- He speculates that the Russian objective might be to capture Borova or to secure the entire Luhansk Oblast, which would require them to gain more ground.
- Deep State's estimate of Russian strength is revised to approximately 10,000 personnel, 200 artillery systems and 250 other pieces of heavy equipment. The Ukrainian 3rd Assault Brigade, previously deployed in Kharkiv, is reportedly defending in this area.
- Euromaidan Press supports Deep State's assessment, adding that the Russian offensive involves tanks, mercenaries, and artillery. They also note the Ukrainian military's confirmation of intensified Russian activity in the Luhansk region, particularly their attempts to capture the settlements of Pushtevneve and Chernishchyna, with the ultimate goal of taking Borova.
- NoReport provides the latest update, directly from the Ukrainian 3rd Assault Brigade, which confirms the intensified Russian attacks aimed at reaching the Luhansk region's borders. The report identifies the Russian units involved as the 3rd and 144th Divisions of Russia's 20th Army, a tank regiment, artillery, private military companies (PMCs) and special forces.
- Jonathan believes that this area could become a major hotspot in the coming days.
- He briefly mentions the lack of changes in other sectors, including Kreminna, where he praises the Ukrainians for their staunch defense.
- He also notes the absence of changes in the Avdiivka salient.
Avdiivka: Russian forces advance north of Avdiivka, threatening key supply route
🎦 17:51-22:27⏩
- Jonathan turns his attention to the Avdiivka salient, where the Russians have made some small gains, but where a key Ukrainian supply route (T0504) is coming under increasing pressure.
- He notes reports suggesting that Russian forces have advanced north of Ocheretyne, west of Arkhanhelske and beneath Novokalynove, bringing them closer to the strategically important T0504 highway, a critical supply route for Ukrainian forces in the east.
- British Intelligence confirms that Russian forces have taken control of Novokalynove, located approximately 20 kilometers north of Avdiivka. They have been steadily advancing in this area since capturing Avdiivka in February. This advance brings them closer to the T0504 road, posing a threat to Ukrainian logistics.
- British Intelligence predicts that the village of Vodianane will likely be Russia's next target as they aim to cut off the T0504 road completely.
- Jonathan agrees with this assessment and believes the Ukrainians will face significant pressure in this sector going forward.
- Jonathan acknowledges Suart Maps, but isn't sure if their maps have been fully updated.
- Suart Maps reported advances in the area of the Karlivka Reservoir, with Russian forces re-entering Nevelske.
- Jonathan expresses disappointment about the loss of Nevelske, a small, well-fortified village that had been valuable for the Ukrainians.
Dnipro River: Russians pushed back from Antonovsky Bridge
🎦 22:27-24:17⏩
- Jonathan shifts focus to the Dnipro River, where Suart Maps has made updates. He clarifies that the "contested lines" will be removed to avoid confusion.
- Suart Maps shows that the Russians are not in control of the left bank of the Dnipro River near the Antonovsky Bridge, which Jonathan finds significant. He recalls discussing this area with Greg (likely during a live stream).
- He mentions a woman who crossed the damaged Antonovsky Bridge from the occupied side while filming herself.
- Jonathan speculates that the Russians, known for their sensitivity to propaganda, may have attempted to advance in this area in response to the video, aiming to reclaim lost ground. However, they were unsuccessful and appear to have been pushed back by Ukrainian forces.
