Hello Team!
Jonathan provides an update on the Ukraine war frontline for June 25, 2023. Not a huge amount of news due to the Prigozhin story dominating the information space. There has been an uptick in activity around the Bakhmut area with Ukrainians on the offensive with greater intensity in a couple places along the frontline.

Northeast Sector - Kupyansk to Svatove to Kreminna
- Disagreement between pro-Russian and pro-Ukrainian mappers on Russian defensive lines north of Kupyansk
- Russian forces unsuccessfully attempting to move closer to Kupyansk according to Ukrainian sergeant
- Unspecified Chechen units reported operating in Kupyansk direction
- Russian MoD claimed destruction of 3 Ukrainian sabotage/recon groups near Brestove and Yahidne
Kreminna Area
- Intensity of Russian attacks has declined in Svatove and Kreminna directions per Ukrainian spokesperson
- Russians claim repelling 4 Ukrainian attacks in Serebryansk forest
- Russians went on attack in Kupyansk and west of Kreminna over past week as counterattacks but lack reserves to sustain advances
- Ukrainians now going on attack in those areas per Russian army team
Bakhmut Area
- Uptick in Ukrainian offensive activity around Bakhmut with gains:
- North of Bakhmut by highway
- Around Klishchiivka
- West of canal by Yahidne
- Russians still hold part of west bank of canal
- Intense fighting reported by both sides, Russians claim to maintain positions
- Ukrainians pushed Russians back 2 streets in south Bakhmut (Dacha area)
- Operational security still tight so not all details known
Avdiivka Area
- Usual fighting reported around Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Marinka
- Ukrainians captured territory held by Russians since 2014 near Krasnohorivka
- Russian blogger accused Ukrainian sources of spreading false info about advances near Donetsk city
- Russian source claimed Russian advance and stronghold capture in Marinka area on June 23
Velyka Novosilka Area
- Ukrainian gains reported around Rivnopil with Russians still holding the town
- Ukrainians advancing on flanks from Lobkove and Storozheve to cut off bridgehead
- If Ukrainians take Staromykhailivka, Russians will have to withdraw from Rivnopil
- Russians unsuccessfully counterattacked near Zolota Nyva and tried to recapture lost positions near Makarivka
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
- Ukrainian gains reported towards Robotyne, 1.5km from center
- Decreased Russian artillery fire facilitated Ukrainian advances
- Russians transferring special forces and paratroopers to area to prevent further Ukrainian advances
- One Russian blogger claimed Ukrainians stopped advancing on Robotyne yesterday evening
- Ukrainians consolidating gains north of Robotyne, major Russian trenches likely taken
Kherson
- Claims Ukrainians established foothold on east bank of Dnipro River
- Heavy fighting reported near Antonivsky Bridge
- Ukrainians allegedly crossed with multiple tanks and infantry, successfully disembarking
- Russians claim 3 Ukrainian tanks crossed by ferry
- Ukrainians may be exploiting Russian troop withdrawal after dam flooding to attempt crossing
