Russian Losses
The Ukrainian General Staff reports the following Russian losses for the previous day:
- 660 liquidated personnel (casualties)
- 11 tanks, 13 APVs (slight uptick, heavy losses)
- 17 artillery systems (Ukrainians targeting these to degrade Russian defensive capabilities)
- 1 anti-aircraft warfare system
- 5 drones, 9 cruise missiles
- 10 vehicles/fuel tanks, 2 pieces of special equipment
Jonathan notes these are average numbers in some categories but problematic in others like tanks and APVs.

Lancet Drone Strikes on Ukrainian Equipment
Jonathan highlights that Lancet loitering munition drone strikes are still an issue for Ukraine, showing a thread with multiple hits on Ukrainian equipment over the last 24 hours, including:
- Infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs)
- Self-propelled guns
- Claimed hit on NASAMS air defense system (later corrected to be Italian Aspide Skyguard system)
- Leopard tank (barrel hit but not much apparent damage)
8 total Lancet hits posted in last 24 hours. Damage varies based on drone variant and hit location but is an ongoing problem for Ukraine.

Visually Confirmed Losses
Jacob Janowski from the Oryx team posted visually confirmed losses for the day:
- Russia: 18 (7 BMP-1s, 4 BMP-3s infantry fighting vehicles)
- Ukraine: 24 (8 tanks including some Leopards, 8 BMPs, 5 Bradleys, Skyguard Aspide control station)
One of the rare days Ukraine suffered more confirmed losses than Russia. The Skyguard Aspide system was a high value loss, destroyed by Lancet drone according to Ukraine Weapons Tracker.

Deteriorating Relations in Russian Armed Forces
The UK Defence Ministry reports sharp deterioration in relations within the Russian armed forces:
- Purges have shocked the military elite
- 15 senior officers dismissed including well-regarded commanders Ivan Popov and Selevestov
- At least 15 more suspended due to "disloyalty"
This is a problem for Russian cohesion and activities.

- Odessa mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov, once pro-Russian, strongly condemns Russia, reflecting alienation of those previously sympathetic
- Russia bombed Ukrainian Danube river ports in Izmail to stop grain exports, a day after US procured rail cars to enable exports via Romania
- Ukraine retaliated with drone attacks on Moscow, hitting a military facility, and Crimea, where an ammo depot in Dzhankoi was struck despite Russian claims of intercepting the drones
