📍 FRONT-LINE UPDATE -🗺️ MAP LEGEND
Northeast Sector (Kupyansk to Svatove to Kreminna)
- Not much to report, some shelling in the Kupyansk area as normal
- Fighting is happening south of Hrianykivka, not westwards across the Oskil River which would be difficult for the Russians to cross
- Noel Rapport's map has Lyman-Pershyi under solid Ukrainian control, which is a significant claim. Defmon has Sinkivka under Russian control.
- Ukrainian artillery hit and destroyed a Russian command post along with several BM-27 Uragan MLRS near Kupiansk, continuing the trend of MLRS being taken out in recent days
Bakhmut
- Russians have taken Zaliznyansky in the north and are putting pressure on Orekhovo-Vasylivka and towards Minkivka
- The road by Khromove is under heavy fire from Russian ATGMs and MLRS
- Fighting in the tunnels under the AZOM complex, with Russians making advances
- In the south, notable Russian advances around Korsunsky Street and the rest of the cemetery
- Conflicting reports on whether Bakhmut will be fully encircled by Russians. Some say it's unlikely, others believe it's imminent.
- Ukrainian forces in Bakhmut are low on ammunition and shells. If they can't secure a supply route soon, they may need to retreat.
- ISW believes the Wagner offensive on Bakhmut is nearing culmination due to heavy losses. Additional Russian reserves would be needed to prevent this.
Avdiivka
- Russians have taken full control of Krasnohorivka in the north
- South of Avdiivka near Severne, Ukrainians conducted a successful counterattack, destroying a Russian tank and forcing BMPs to retreat
- Fighting continues in central Marinka with little change in recent days
- Russians made some incremental gains in northern Marinka
Vuhledar
- Vuhledar remains a major problem for Russian forces
- A captured Russian soldier's diary revealed that only 57 out of 434 soldiers (13%) survived a 4-day assault near Vuhledar
- Russian forces are rushing operations and failing to employ proper mine-clearing practices
- Ukrainians have beaten back Russians and taken a few hedgerows in recent days
- Russians in Pavlivka and Mykilske feel confident to attack but lack sufficient vehicles
- If Ukrainians can hold Vuhledar until mid-April, "everything will be okay"
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
- A small Ukrainian recon attack south of Orikhiv ended badly, with a couple of armoured vehicles destroyed
- Russians claim they repelled a Ukrainian amphibious attack from Nikopol across the Kakhovka Reservoir, but this is unconfirmed
- Extensive fortifications continue to be built by Russians in Zaporizhzhia Oblast
