"We might slag off mainstream media for not reporting stuff enough. But here's the thing. Unless it's a public broadcasting company like the BBC... if the... and they have a different agenda to a private news entity like CNN like Fox News or whatever... so we can differentiate them... but certainly with the private news media entities they will produce news if there's a cycle of of what's interesting for people."

🪦 DISCLAIMER FOR GENERAL STAFF LOSSES DATA
- These are real people with real lives and real families who love them. Don’t let the numbers sap your humanity.
- These numbers probably aren’t accurate but they’re the best we have and we don’t need them to be accurate to be indicative of patterns of activity.
- All losses are estimates. Losses cannot be counted with accuracy because of the conditions on the ground.
- Both sides would see it to be of their advantage to minimize their own losses maximize the other side’s losses.
- Neither side releases their losses but we have enough transparency from the Ukrainian side to have confidence in they are indicative.
- Personnel losses are hard to count. If a soldier gets injured, heals up, and returns to the front line only to get injured again, is that one loss or two? Also, how to deal with losses from PMC’s or soldiers fighting with RF from occupied territories?
- Equipment losses are hard to count. If an AA complex involves several parts and one part gets disabled, is that a loss, or a fraction of a loss? If a tank gets disabled, repaired, back into the fight, then disabled again, is that one lost tank or two?
- All recorded losses are vulnerable to multiple reporting. We have already seen numerous cases of multiple drones in the air reporting the same loss from different angles as multiple engagements.
- Losses are not always reported on the same day they occurred. It is frequent that drone losses are reported at least 24 hours after other terrestrial equipment losses. Certain losses may not be reported for days or weeks for military intelligence reasons.

Ukrainian Strike on Sevastopol - Damage to Russian warships
🎦 01:52-05:18⏩
Jonathan analyses the recent Ukrainian strikes on Sevastopol. Initial reports suggested that 2 Russian ships had been hit, but this now appears to be as many as 3. The Azov and Yamal landing ships were damaged, and the Ivan Kurs reconnaissance ship is also believed to have been hit. Satellite images appear to show one of the ships being towed into drydock. Jonathan notes some inconsistencies in reporting and that the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine claim that damage to the Yamal is critical.

Russian Missile Attacks on Kyiv 25th March
🎦 06:44-10:46⏩
As Jonathan is speaking, news breaks that Kyiv has been hit by Ballistic Missiles. It is thought that 2-3 missiles were involved. Jonathan shows footage of children in a school in Kyiv reacting to the explosions and having to run inside to shelter. A residential building was also hit by missile debris, with substantial damage caused. The Solomiansky and Dnipro districts of the city were affected. Jonathan highlights that the US Congress is currently unable to provide further aid to Ukraine as it is currently controlled by pro-Russian politicians.

Russian Missile Attacks - Impact on Ukrainian Energy Infrastructure
🎦 11:38-17:53⏩
Jonathan goes on to discuss the impact of recent large-scale Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure. He notes that, on 24th March, 2 waves of Russian missiles, including Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, hit Lviv and that it took firefighters almost a day to extinguish the fire at a gas storage facility. In Kharkiv, the mayor has reported that all transformer substations have been destroyed, with 60% of residential buildings without power. Jonathan highlights that this damage comes at a cost and that the West is helping to keep Ukraine afloat financially as well as providing weapons. It is cheaper, in the long run, to provide Ukraine with the means to defend itself rather than have to fund the rebuilding of vital infrastructure. Jonathan goes on to say that Ukrainian energy company DTEK lost 50% of its generating capacity as a result of the attacks on 22nd March and that it will take months to recover. Jonathan notes that this damage is largely underreported in the Western media and questions whether the media is driving the news agenda or reflecting the desires of its audience. He encourages his viewers to engage with Ukraine-related news in the mainstream media (even if they don't read the articles) to demonstrate their interest.

Russians Recover Downed Ukrainian Drone - Mockery and Analysis
🎦 23:31-25:21⏩
Jonathan discusses a downed Ukrainian drone that Russian sources claim was "made from shit and sticks" by Ukrainian engineers. He dismisses this as Russian propaganda and highlights that, even if this is the case, the drone still successfully infiltrated Russian airspace, attracted air defence fire (which is expensive) and may well have provided valuable intelligence. He compares this to the use of cheap, low-tech Orlan drones by the Russians which are nonetheless effective. Jonathan then shows a large, advanced drone that has been recovered by the Russians and speculates that this may have been brought down by electronic warfare rather than conventional air defences.

Russian Missile in Polish Airspace
🎦 25:21-28:02⏩
Jonathan discusses the recent incident where a Russian missile crossed into Polish airspace for 39 seconds and was not shot down. The Polish authorities stated that they decided against shooting the missile down as it was too risky and may have landed in Poland or Ukraine. Jonathan believes that Poland should have shot the missile down and argues that, by allowing Russian missiles to cross its territory, they are effectively giving Russia carte blanche to use their airspace to attack Ukraine.

Terrorist Attack in Moscow and the Russian Response
🎦 28:02-38:46⏩
Jonathan discusses the recent terrorist attack on the Kroka City Hall music venue on the outskirts of Moscow. He notes that, despite ISIS claiming responsibility for the attack (and providing evidence to support their claims), Russia is trying to blame Ukraine and the CIA for the attack. Jonathan argues that American commentators like Douglas MacGregor and Scott Ritter are perpetuating this myth and acting as Kremlin puppets. He is unsure whether MacGregor, in particular, genuinely believes what he is saying. He highlights the horrific way that the Russian authorities have treated the captured ISIS suspects (including torture) and that they then paraded the injured men in court. He contrasts this with how Western nations deal with similar situations and states that, whilst many people would want to see these men punished, it is important to uphold the rule of law and not resort to torture and vigilantism. Jonathan then highlights how the Russian media and authorities are using this attack for propaganda purposes and that Putin's approval rating has increased as a result (something he refers to as the "rally around the flag effect"). He argues that this was also the case in the UK following the Falklands War, and in the US following 9/11.
