Jonathan provides a frontline update for the Ukraine war on July 30, 2023. He notes there is not a lot of news coming out along the whole frontline, likely due to weather hampering large-scale movements from either side. It may be a refreshingly quick video as a result.

📍 FRONT-LINE UPDATE -🗺️ MAP LEGEND
Northeast Sector - Kupyansk to Svatove to Kreminna
- No significant news out of Kupyansk area
- In Svatove area west of Kupyansk, Russians had pushed Ukrainians back 2-6km over 2-3 days, 12km wide frontline
- Ukrainians have stabilized frontline and pushed Russians back according to Andrew Perpetua's map
- Ukrainians re-entered small village of Tvedoklybove
- Russians made minimal advances south of Novohorivka, trying to enter Kharkiv Oblast
- Jonathan notes bias in how much time is spent discussing Ukrainian vs Russian gains
Bakhmut Area
- Very little information coming out of Bakhmut, lowest level from any sector
- Geolocated footage shows Ukrainians advanced to NW outskirts of Klishchiivka
- Russian milbloggers claim Ukrainians continued attacking Klishchiivka but Russian defenses held
- Reduced intensity of Ukrainian attacks possibly due to bad weather
- No granular information about Avdiivka, Marinka, Pobyeda, Krasnohorivka
South of Bakhmut - Velyka Novosilka Salient
- Syriat Maps claims Russians recaptured some high/low positions near Staromaiorske, forcing Ukrainian withdrawal to north of town
- Other mappers like Weeb Union seem to rely heavily on Syriat Maps which appears to be toeing Russian MOD line more
- Lack of evidence for Russian counterattack claims
- Ukrainians pressuring flanks of Urozhaine, reached road between Novodonetsk and Kermenchyk
- Russian source admits situation tough for them in Urozhaine after Ukraine took Staromaiorske
Robotyne Area
- Very little information coming out of Robotyne area despite massive Ukrainian attack there recently
- Ukrainians suffered losses of equipment like Bradleys but did make some territorial gains at a cost
- Weather giving both sides a chance to regroup before further assaults
- Kremlin milblogger claimed Ukrainians captured small forest area NE of Robotyne
Mariupol
The ISW reports that Ukrainian sources indicate Russian occupation authorities continue "crypto mobilization" efforts in occupied Ukraine to serve in Russian military units. A construction crew in Mariupol was forcibly conscripted and the Russian military has staffed units with Ukrainians living in occupied territories. Jonathan previously discussed how horrible it must be for pro-Ukrainians in occupied areas to be forced to fight against their own side.
