📍 FRONT-LINE UPDATE -🗺️ MAP LEGEND
Northeast Sector - Kupyansk
- No change to the frontline in the Kupyansk area
- Syriac Maps (pro-Russian) claims recent video footage shows the Russian army shelling Ukrainian positions in Sinkivka, confirming Ukrainian forces are still present in the northern part of the town
- ISW reports repelled attacks in the area
- Russian airborne VDV units claimed to be pushing Ukrainian forces from positions in forests west of Kreminna over the past week
- Russian forces are reportedly reinforcing forward tank and assault units in the Kupyansk and Liman directions
- Jonathan notes the VDV may not be as elite as before due to force dilution from mobilized troops
Bakhmut
- Relatively quiet in Bakhmut
- Ukrainian spokesman claimed unspecified success near Odradivka, Andriivka, and Kurdiumivka
- After recapturing Klishchiivka, Ukrainian army made small advances north of the town close to the railway, a key natural barrier with dugouts and tunnels
Avdiivka and Velyka Novosilka
- No advances in Avdiivka
- Russians took heavy losses capturing the Atamanivka mine near Krasnohorivka but appear to control it now according to pro-Russian and pro-Ukrainian mappers
- Rumours that some Ukrainian troops around the Velyka Novosilka salient may be moving westward to focus efforts on one sector rather than splitting forces
- Novomayorsk has been returned to Russian control according to mappers, reversing earlier Ukrainian gains
Robotyne and Verbove
- Syriac Maps (pro-Russian) shows Ukrainian advances south of Robotyne and southwest of Verbove along the Russian main defense line
- Global War Monitor aligns with Syriac Maps, noting Ukrainian success in the Verbove area, liberating 0.6 square km of land
- More Ukrainian positions were noted west of Robotyne
- Andrew Perpetua's mapping shows Ukrainian gains moving down the manned trench line between the tank ditch and trench
- A Wall Street Journal article reports Ukrainian forces breached the main Russian defense line near Verbove in Zaporizhzhia with armored vehicles, overcoming anti-tank obstacles
- The breach is small and heavily contested with Russians launching counterattacks and Ukrainian units taking heavy casualties
- If Ukrainians establish a firm foothold, they could drive more armored vehicles through the gap into less fortified areas
