"We are even here we are here even just die of hunger because we have no water no food we have nothing we cannot even go to the city to spend a penny to buy ourselves something because we are under shelling."
Hello Team!
Jonathan opens the video by mentioning it's November but he's already eaten two mince pies with his last cup of tea. He then directs viewers to the key for his map if they need help understanding the lines and symbols.

📍 FRONT-LINE UPDATE -🗺️ MAP LEGEND
Northeastern Front - Kupyansk to Svatove
- The Russians made a couple kilometer improvement near Yahidne in the northeastern corner, according to JR's mapping
- The ISW reported 15 attacks in the general area, showing consistent activity along the front line
- Russian forces made localized offensive operations and confirmed advances west of Volodymyrivka
- A Russian truck was hit by drone-dropped munitions 2.3 km behind Russian lines, but this does not signify a Russian advance
- There were repelled attacks along this axis as usual
- A Ukrainian brigade spokesman stated Russian forces often conduct assaults with groups of up to 10 personnel, each with 4-5 vehicles, showing limited combat power
Bakhmut Area
- The Russians made sizable gains of about 1.5 km in the northern area by the Bukivka reservoir, according to Syriac and Deep State maps
- The ISW said the Ukrainian army is being put on the back foot and made a significant withdrawal to more defensible positions
- The Russians recaptured a big part of the territory lost during the Ukrainian counteroffensive last June
- Near Klishchivka, the Russians advanced and retook part of the forest area adjacent to the railway, but have not entered the locality itself according to Syriac maps
- The ISW said there is no visual evidence of a Russian advance into Klishchivka, and if they controlled it, the Russians would likely be publicizing proof
Avdiivka Area
- No changes mapped to the north of Avdiivka, but the area remains difficult for both sides
- Russian sources claimed the Ukrainians successfully counterattacked and advanced near the railway station and restaurant south of Avdiivka
- Fighting is ongoing near the Avdiivka Coke Plant, with a Russian blogger claiming the Ukrainians control at least half of it, but the ISW has not seen visual evidence of Russian advances into the plant itself
- The Russians weakened the 2014 Ukrainian defensive line south of Avdiivka using artillery, drones and tunnel bombs, allowing them to penetrate with tanks and shift fighting to the Promka industrial complex for the first time
- Many ex-Wagner forces with experience from Bakhmut are fighting in this area
Donetsk and Southern Front
- The Ukrainians made gains towards Pisky in the Pervomysky area, but the Russians also made slight gains according to Syriac maps
- The front line remains active around Mariinka and Vuhledar with no changes mapped
- There was a spike in activity around Velyka Novosilka in recent days
- The Ukrainians had some success west of Hulyaipole in the last few days, with reports of them being inside Novoprokopivka, but no further information today
Kherson Oblast and Kinburn Peninsula
- There are still reports and complaints from Russian soldiers in the Kherson region regarding lack of training, equipment, food and rotation of troops
- One soldier from the Kamchatka Battalion made an emotional plea warning people not to join, saying half the battalion is dead or injured and they are just sent to slaughter
- Zelensky reported that defense capabilities, counter-battery work, electronic warfare and air defense have been strengthened in the Kherson region after consultations with his staff
- The Russians complained that logistics between the Kinburn Spit, Oleshky and Novokakhovka have been lost, likely due to effective Ukrainian drone and artillery strikes
- There were rumors of a potential Ukrainian move on the Kinburn Peninsula, but no confirmation
Wrap Up
Jonathan notes that while there are no confirmed Ukrainian gains in Kherson today, it appears to be a more positive area for them compared to the challenging situations in Avdiivka and Bakhmut. He thanks viewers for watching and reminds them to like, subscribe and share.
