"There seems to be a lot of give and take, push and shove in this area."
Hello Team!
Jonathan has been away at a reunion this weekend so his granular knowledge of recent events is somewhat lacking. JR, a great member of the channel, has done mapping updates to cover the 14th and 15th of October.

📍 FRONT-LINE UPDATE -🗺️ MAP LEGEND
Northeastern Sector - Kupyansk to Svatove to Kreminna Front
- A video was released of Russian relatives saying their unit is taking colossal losses around Kupyansk, with 40% of troops refusing to fight. This indicates Russian advances may have come at a high cost.
- The Russian UN representative claimed the Ukrainian counteroffensive is over and Russian forces have switched to active combat operations on almost the entire front. Jonathan questions if this is sustainable.
- Minor Russian gains near Orliansky according to Andrew Perpetua's map.
Bakhmut Area
- Near Klishchivka, Ukraine has pushed Russians back 1.5 km according to Global War Monitor.
- Disagreement between mappers on exact lines east of the railway.
- Deep State Map shows Ukrainian gains of about 1 km east of the railway in some areas.
- Russian gains south of Bakhmut along a railway line near Opytne.
- Ukrainian gains north of Soledar near Mykolaivka according to Syriac Maps, not yet reflected on other maps.
- Geolocated footage of a Ukrainian artillery strike on a Russian ammunition dump north of Bakhmut near Dubovo-Vasylivka.
Avdiivka Area
- Heavy fighting reported in a quarry northwest of Opytne.
- Russians consolidating positions in recently captured Almaz-1 fortifications south of Andriyivka.
- Disagreement between mappers on Ukrainian/Russian positions between Oleksandropil and Nova Zaliska.
- Russians made costly gains up to the railway near Avdiivka.
- Syriac Maps claims Ukrainians made gains near Krasnohorivka that were previously reported as Russian gains. Ukrainians say the area was never taken by Russia in the first place.
- Minor Russian gains towards a slag heap near Marinka.
South of Marinka - Novomykhailivka and Velyka Novosilka
- According to Syriac Maps, Russians made gains towards Novomykhailivka from Slavne over the past 4 days, taking advantage of Ukraine moving some forces to Robotyne. Other mappers have not confirmed this yet.
- In the Velyka Novosilka salient, Syriac Maps reports Russian gains northwest of Pryiutne.
Robotyne Area
- Ukrainian gains between Novoprokopivka and Verbove according to Andrew Perpetua.
- Syriac Maps claims Russians pushed Ukrainians back northwest of Verbove.
- Heavy fighting reported north and northeast of Kopani with possible new Ukrainian gains needing confirmation.
- East of Novoprokopivka, Ukrainians trying to push south and east towards Verbove. A group of Russian soldiers from the 108th Guards Air Assault Regiment reportedly surrendered to Ukraine between Kopani and Verbove.
- 65th Mechanized Brigade hitting Russian forces south of Robotyne. Ukraine may have regained full control, allowing an assault on Novoprokopivka from the north.
- 46th Air Assault Brigade trying to advance east of Novoprokopivka. Dragon's Teeth fortifications from the Surovikin Line visible in footage.
Wrap Up
In the Robotyne sector, the situation seems tough with a lot of "give and take, push and shove". Ukraine is focusing on degrading Russian armor while making incremental gains. Aviation used by Russia around Novomykhailivka is a potential concern. Avdiivka seems to be going well for Ukraine despite some Russian gains. Bakhmut also appears positive for Ukrainian forces. It's a mixed bag in certain areas and we'll see how things develop in the coming week. As always, many along the frontline don't have the luxury of being diverted elsewhere like Jonathan this weekend, which is important to keep in mind.
