"This YouTube community I have here at ATP Geopolitics is insanely good. Like the, all things considered, considering there's politics involved here, there's nation involved, there's a war, there's disinformation agents, all sorts. There's an amazing platform that showcases expertise amongst you guys."
Hello Team!
Jonathan provides some personal background and an update on his health situation:
- He has primary progressive multiple sclerosis which forced him to give up his teaching career. His mobility is good but he struggles with multitasking and "cognitive load".
- To pay the bills, he took on 5 different work-from-home jobs including a civil service role. He is now giving up the civil service job to free up more time for his other work.
YouTube and the Ukraine War Obsession
- Jonathan started the ATP Geopolitics channel hoping it could help contribute financially. He then became obsessed with covering the Ukraine war.
- There was so much to cover that he split it into 3 videos per day. He has easily enough content to fill those.
- He is still experimenting with using light mode vs dark mode in his videos as his audience seems split on their preference.
Thanking the ATP Geopolitics Community
Jonathan expresses his heartfelt thanks to the ATP Geopolitics community:
- He is amazed and grateful to have 14,400 subscribers listening to him daily. Their support allows him to make the choices he is making with the channel.
- He appreciates the members who help sustain the channel financially through memberships, donations, etc.
- He is impressed by the quality of the community interaction, especially compared to many other YouTube channels that can be "slime pits of abuse".
- Despite the political nature of the content and the disinformation around, the commenters showcase great expertise and decency. Jonathan learns a lot from the comment threads.
Wrap up
Jonathan reiterates his big thank you to the community for supporting what he does. He will continue to put out content as long as there is an audience for it. With a bit more free time now, he hopes to "smooth off the rough edges" of his videos a bit, though his priority is still to get the content out in a timely manner.
