"If ever I say something that seems a little bit outrageous, assume I'm just joking and taking the mickey."
Hello Team!
Jonathan provides an update on the Ukraine war frontlines. He notes there has been a lot of activity in the last 24 hours that may not yet be reflected in the mapping.

📍 FRONT-LINE UPDATE -🗺️ MAP LEGEND
Russian Losses
- Ukrainian commander Sursky claims Russian losses are 8-10 times higher than Ukrainian losses, though this likely has some Ukrainian spin
- Ukraine has not yet used its main forces; the main goal is to deplete enemy forces to enable a breakthrough
- Russians are prioritising destroying as much Western equipment as possible
Northeast Frontline (Kupyansk to Kreminna)
- Not a great deal of news, despite reports of Russian offensive operations in several areas
- Both sides claim the other is attacking in the same places, reflecting the chaos of war
Bakhmut
- Intense fighting continues in and around Bakhmut
- Ukrainians appear to be making advances, particularly in the Klishchiivka area south of the city, but full control is not confirmed
- A Russian source (Sladkov) claimed Russians retreated from Klishchiivka due to "shell hunger", but a Ukrainian soldier refutes this
- Both sides continue attacking each other's positions around Bakhmut
Avdiivka, Marinka and Southern Donetsk
- A significant explosion occurred east of Avdiivka, possibly damaging railway infrastructure
- Fighting continues around Marinka with the Russians launching ground attacks
- In southern Donetsk near Velyka Novosilka, Ukrainians have reportedly advanced 2km and reached the outskirts of Priyutne, but details are limited
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
- Ukrainians are reportedly rapidly advancing east and southeast of Pyatykhatky towards Vasilivka, but no changes yet on the map
- Russians claim to have mined the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and accuse Ukraine of planning a false flag attack
Kherson Oblast and Antonivsky Bridge
- No major mapping changes in the last few days
- Despite Russian claims, Ukrainian forces still maintain a foothold on the east bank of the Dnipro River near the Antonivsky Bridge
- Russian forces are struggling to remove the Ukrainians, who are regrouping for further attacks
Wrap up
Jonathan notes that while the mapping may not show a lot of changes, he believes significant movement has occurred that will take time to be reflected. He also clarifies that an apparently outrageous comment he made about the 4th of July was meant as a joke. Jonathan signs off wishing everyone well.
