Ukraine secures €27bn loan from the EU

The EU has agreed to loan Ukraine €27bn. The agreement, signed by Ukraine's Minister of Finance and the chairman of the National Bank will provide Ukraine with predictable and flexible support as it continues its defence against Russia's invasion.

US Military Aid Package (June 25th 2024)

The US is expected to announce a military aid package for Ukraine today, totalling $150m. The package is thought to include HIMARS, ATAKMS, 155mm and 105mm shells, anti-armour weapons and small arms.

Spain delivers second batch of Patriot Missiles to Ukraine

Spain has sent a second batch of Patriot anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine, along with Leopard Tanks, various types of ammunition, anti-drone systems and optical and electronic surveillance and tracking systems. Jonathan notes that given Spain is the fourth largest economy in Europe, it should be doing more to support Ukraine's defence, as well as its own, as it is one of the lowest-spending NATO members.

France: AASM Hammer Bomb Production to Double

France will produce 600 AASM Hammer Bombs in 2024 for Ukraine. It is thought that this is in addition to the 600 per year already promised. The French Ministry of Armed Forces aims to double this to 1,200 by 2025, although it has not confirmed if this will be for the Ukrainian Armed Forces or to replenish their own stockpiles. The French Army also stated that the same logic will apply to orders for SCALP missiles.

France: Jordan Bardella may limit military support to Ukraine

Denmark to cease F-16 pilot training for Ukrainians in 2024

Denmark will cease training Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 fighter jets by the end of 2024. According to the Danish Defence Minister, this is because they are switching to F-35s, which will use the Skridstrup airbase where the training is being conducted.

Ukraine: Akhmatov Steel Front donates CB90 Combat Boats to Ukrainian Navy

Akhmatov Steel Front has donated an unspecified number of CB90 combat boats to the Ukrainian Navy. The high-speed, manoeuvrable vessels were praised by US experts as being "monstrously powerful" and took six months to deliver. Akhmatov Steel Front is an initiative by Ukrainian oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, who owns businesses such as Metinvest, DTEK and FC Shakhtar. Germany: Donation of 41 Mercedes-Benz Arocs Trucks to Ukraine

Serbia: Increased production of Artillery Ammunition for Ukraine

Ukraine Overcomes Shell Famine

A Ukrainian commander said that ammunition had been strictly rationed, which had allowed Russian infantry to act more aggressively, but Ukrainian troops can now fire at full strength. However, there is now a shortage of trained personnel to operate artillery pieces.

Czech Republic: First Shipment of Artillery Ammunition to Ukraine

The Czech Republic has sent its first shipment of artillery ammunition to Ukraine. Jonathan mentioned yesterday that deliveries were expected to begin by the end of June. Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala has said that the first delivery has already arrived in Ukraine, which is likely why they are no longer experiencing a shortage.

Russia: Indoctrination of Ukrainian Children in Crimea
