📍 FRONT-LINE UPDATE -🗺️ MAP LEGEND
Northeastern Front - Kupiansk to Kreminna
No changes to the frontline in this area according to the map sources used (Deep State Map, Andrew Perpetua and Suriat Maps). The ISW reports repelled attacks along the line as expected.
Bakhmut Area
- Russians are making gains in the northern area over the railway line and towards the northern parts of Klishchiivka village, which is worrying for Ukrainians
- The ISW reports significant Russian advances from Yahidne and Bakivka towards Bohdanivka and Kramove, with tactical engagements north of Soledar
- The grey zone and trench lines the Ukrainians have dug in are under increasing pressure from the Russians each day
Avdiivka Area
- Russian gains around Vesele where Andrew Perpetua's mapping is starting to align more with Suriat Maps
- Ukrainians under pressure around the coke plant and northern area near Stepova
- In the southern industrial zone, Suriat Maps shows some Russian gains
- A Russian source claims Ukrainian counter-attacks in almost all areas around Avdiivka where Russia had previous success, but achieved with considerable Russian losses
- Footage of a Ukrainian Leopard 2 tank operating well in Stepova, constantly moving and firing at Russian positions while using smoke screens for protection
Southern Front - Vuhledar to Velyka Novosilka
- Not many changes to mapping in recent days
- Footage of Russian vehicles being destroyed east of the Velyka Novosilka salient near Novodonetsk
- Russian military bloggers claim marginal Ukrainian advance near Novoprokopivka (unconfirmed) and that Russia recaptured part of the N08 highway near Nova Fedorivka in a counterattack (not observed by ISW)
Kherson-Dnipro River Area
- Small improvement for Ukraine but no major changes, which is worrying if Russia is getting a handle on the area
- Ukrainians finding it hard to make significant gains and expand their bridgeheads, which a Ukrainian source says is necessary before winter or they may need to be abandoned
- Russians are struggling too, taking heavy losses, but are able to drop large 500kg bombs on the small Ukrainian bridgehead areas
- The Russian occupation administration in Oleshky has reportedly moved to Velyki Kopani due to the deteriorating security situation
Wrap Up
In summary, the situation seems on a knife edge in Kherson now that Russia has reinforced the area, which could leave weaknesses elsewhere that Ukraine may try to exploit. Ukrainians are finding it hard in both Bakhmut and Avdiivka despite some gains between the two recently. This appears to be a stage of Russian momentum and we'll have to see if Ukraine can stop that. Russia likely lacks the reserves to do more than take some immediate areas like Avdiivka but then may struggle to advance further. Thank you for watching - please like, subscribe and share.
