Details of the Crimean Bridge Truck Bomb Attack
Chris Osborne pieces together the Russian account of the October 8, 2022 truck bomb attack on the Crimean Bridge. According to Russia, the explosives were sent from Odessa, Ukraine in early August 2022, traveling through Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia, and Armenia before arriving in Russia on October 5th. The cargo was listed as plastic edge banding and picked up by an Azerbaijan-born truck driver who was likely unaware of the explosives. The truck exploded on the bridge around 6:03 AM on October 8th.

Ukraine's Crimean Bridge Attack Plans
The head of Ukraine's SBU security service, Vasyl Maliuk, revealed details about the Crimean Bridge attacks. The first attack in October 2022 involved 21 tons of explosives disguised as plastic rolls to evade scanners, equivalent to 42 Russian Kinzhal missiles. For the second attack in July 2023, Ukraine and its Navy developed maritime drones armed with 850kg of explosives that struck a bridge support. Maliuk's team carefully monitored the drones, dealing with countermeasures, before the successful strike that caused part of the roadway to collapse.

Countering Russia's Lancet Drones
