Frontline Update
- In the Kupyansk area, the Russians have brought in fresh forces but have been pushed back from Novoharivka. The situation is dynamic and difficult for Ukrainian forces.
- In the Bakhmut area, Ukrainians may have crossed the railway tracks north of Kurdiumivka. Fighting continues around Klishchiivka.
- On the southern frontline, Ukrainians have made gains around Staromaiorske and are pressuring towards Priyutne and Zavitne. They have also entered Urozhaine.
- In the Robotyne salient, Ukrainians have expanded their area of control and deepened the grey zone.
Russian Defensive Tactics
Jonathan offers his perspective that while the Russians are defending well in many areas, they are exhausting their forces in doing so. He believes there could be a tipping point where they are unable to prevent Ukrainian breakthroughs.

Kherson and Dnipro River
There are indications the Ukrainians may have footholds on the left (east) bank of the Dnipro River in three areas - Oleshky, Hola Prystan, and Kozachi Laheri. Russian sources provide conflicting information on whether Ukrainian attacks have been successful.

Military Aid
- Germany is ready to provide Ukraine with Taurus long-range missiles, which would be significant.
- Sweden will transfer Archer self-propelled guns to Ukraine for the first time.
- Ukraine will produce NATO-standard 155mm ammunition by the end of the year. Production of Stugna-P anti-tank missile systems has quadrupled.
- The first batch of US Abrams tanks for Ukraine has been approved for shipment.
Geopolitics
- Poland accuses Belarus and Russia of orchestrating a new migrant influx into the EU. This may be an attempt to undermine EU unity.
- Ukrainian intelligence suggests Russia may be involved in the recent explosion at a grain storage facility in Turkey.
- There has been a surge in German exports to Kyrgyzstan, possibly as a means to circumvent sanctions on Russia. This raises questions about enforcement of the sanctions regime.
